Call the cops or security.

This question was tested recently by the guys with NBC news. Most people just watched and walked on by like they didn't give a care. A few people did call the police. I was actually appalled that someone would just watch someone obviously break into a car. It was quite shocking, but I guess now I know why no one did anything when my car was broken into. Quite sad, really.

I would call the police because if someone saw someone breaking in my car I would want them to call the police.

No surprise to see the usual criticism of the Police from lots of people who clearly don't live in the real world where the Police are understaffed, overstretched, under funded and not supported by the public they are trying to help live a safe existence.

Personally I'd call the incident in to the Police, then I'd go and arrest the suspect whilst waiting for my colleagues to arrive!

Those of you who'd do nothing better hope you don't ever come moaning to me about being a victim of crime when you can't be bothered to help others.

If a crime isn't ever reported, it can never be investigated. A criminal can still be caught even if they aren't caught in the act and this often happens as a result of witnesses who care enough to come forward.

If a crime is investigated and not solved, it stays on file pending further evidence coming to light and may be solved at a later date.

This would never happen if it were never reported in the first place.

Call the police. I certainly would want someone to call if it were my car being stolen. Not to mention I think it would be the right thing to do. "It's not my business" is not me if it is an issue like that or involving child abuse or such things. I'm not a turn a blind eye person. Of course, I would write down the license number. I would also point out that I believe it might be stolen.

If it were my car, I'd call the police but after kicking their *** but in such a manner as to appear guilt-free. I'd do the same thing if the car in question belonged to good friends of mine.

As for cars that belong to strangers? It depends on how open to theft they left it to begin with. If the car was left by its owner in such a way that the doors might have been better left wide open then the owner deserves their car to be robbed. However, if the car was kept secure like all cars really should be, then I'd lend a hand for sure.

I would call the police, and I hope that someone would do it for me too.

But in reality, by the time the police got there, the criminal would be gone, sold the car radio and already be coming down from the hit he bought with it.
