alcohol, fatty deposits, known as fatty liver syndrome not dangerous in itself but can slow down the livers ability to help fight infection and finally infection itself if your asking this question for yourself then maybe your doctor has diagnosed this enlargement as more questions of your doctor.

There are lots of reasons. If someone has been told that they have an enlarged liver then they will also have been told why.
Some causes are: hepatitis, jaundice, cirrhosis, tumers, poisoning, the list is endless.

One has to wonder why you want to know. If you have been told this by a doctor, did the rest just go over your head? If this is the case I would suggest another appointment with that doctor, and take a.n.other with you to listen to what you might miss.

Itis, the ending of words like Hebititis, means "swelling" of the liver....Hope I was of some help to you, i got that from my Medical encyclopedia.......smile!!!
