I just want to see how much I'm getting back, I don't want it to be a final tranaction

I also use turbo tax and it is great. It gives you a running total of how much you will get back or what you owe as you go. You do not have to purchase it if you do not want. It still gives you a total as you work. It only charges you if you want to print it and you then enter your credit card number. If you efile with them you get your return in less than 2 weeks. I think that it is worth the money.

Try www.Turbotax.com, you could prepare a return online, it will calculate the federal and state taxes you owe or a refund you are due, you have no obligation to purchase, but as long as you enter all the proper info you might as well buy and file, it's about $50 for federal and state with free e-file.

You can prepare your return on line to see where you stand but once you actually file it it becomes final.
