If they're feeding on the surface, try a lump of breadcrust on a size8 hook.

If they seem to be feeding on the river bed, then try sweetcorn, maggots or one of BERKLEY's posh baits

Use canned corn. Bait the area 2 days before you plan to fish and the carp will be waiting for you when u come. Corn is simply the best bait for carp plus you dont have to worry about other fish taking your bait not even sunnys! Use a weight and fish it along the bottom although i have caught them with bobbers!!!!!!!!!

corn. I heard soaking the corn in vanilla extract helps. I've never fished for them, I know a couple lakes that got huge ones but I forget to bring the corn everytime. but I read a good article in infisherman a long time ago thats where the vanilla idea came from. sound like a real challenge.

Peanut butter, flour, sugar, water and Jello crystals

mix the peanut butter, sugar, water and jello - then add flour until it gets stiff enough to roll into balls.

I've used this one too - and caught a 28 pounder within 10 minutes! (Clearlake CA)

This is a very simple recipe, all you need is a few slices of bread, some peanut butter and some bird seed.

cut the crusts off of the bread.
spread peanut butter on a slice, put another piece of bread on (like a sandwich)
roll and knead the slices together.
add 2 tablespoons of water.
mix the bird seed in.
roll the dough into balls.

a box of wheaties, take some and crish it up and add a little water, until you can make a ball and it won't fall off. They love it.
