I get the same problem every time I go to the beach, especially when I roll my windows down for the ride home.
Try washing and rinsing your hair with any mainstream conditioner. I use VO5, which you can find for about a dollar for a BIG ol' bottle. It makes your hair very managable, and easy-to-brush.

Use a wide-toothed comb and if you have any leave-in conditioner spray it on the comb. Start from the bottom of each strand of hair and gently work up to the top. Try not to yank hard or you'll break the hair and make it look like hay.

First, get a comb--if you have one with large teeth it will work better. Then, make a mixture of mayonnaise, lemon juice, and salt. It shouldn't be so thick that you can't get it through your hair, but not runny. Dip your comb in this mixture and comb through from the roots to the ends. Be sure to start with your comb near your scalp and work down, not the opposite. Afterwards, you will probaly want to wash it out of your hair.

Just about any thing that has a little bit of oil to it will work. Just takes a little bit through your hair and the tangles will slide apart easily. I have a little girl that is a tomboy and always has knots in her hair... works great!

saturate your hair with conditioner in the shower and try to untangle it with a hair pick or your fingers.
