I'm so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, there isn't any way to make the sorrow go away, but it will soften with time. It's perfectly normal to be very sad after losing a beloved pet.

One thing that might help would be to remember the joys and good times your beloved cat brought into your life. Get a notebook and put it on your desk near your papers for your book report. Write down some happy memories of your cat. Then concentrate on the book report. If you find you can't concentrate and keep thinking about your cat, write down your thoughts, and then turn back to the report.

When you have more time, you can make up a scrapbook to honor your cat's memory. Use photos of your cat, write a poem about her, and write notes of happy memories you have of her, and about the good things she brought into your life. Talk to your family about having a wake to honor her memory and help you move beyond the intense grief. You can set a time for your family to get together, and you can all reminisce together about the funny and sweet things she did, and the happy memories you have. Your family may offer stories or poems for you to add to the scrapbook.

Concentrating on the joy she brought into your life will help to soften the pain of her loss, and will honor her memory.

My thoughts are with you.

Young Lady, you may not realized it, but you just showed the greatest love a person can give to a sick or dying animal. Please keep this in mind. THERE IS KNOW OTHER WAY YOU COULD SHOWN YOUR DEDICATED LOVE TO YOUR KITTIE. Wanting Kittie back is a normal but selfish thing. If Kittie could not be whole, we cannot wish her/him back. My hart grieves for you, but it looks like you gave your ultimate love. Thank you for that. You must be a very special and wonderful person. Please don't forget about the rainbow bridge. And yes, I believe all pets will go to heaven to be with the care givers forever. Heaven sure wouldn't be much fun, without pets.(especially Kitties). When you are grieving, and you must, please turn your thoughts to the good times. Think what your baby would you do. I don't think she would want you to neglect your other life obligations, do you? Take a small marker, and have someone write her name on your upper shoulder. Then she will be close to you while you grieve. God bless you.

you are going to grieve, thats natural. people say dont get another pet to replace a lost one but i think they are wrong. you gave your cat a good life but there are millions of pets out there needing a home. go to a shelter or look in the paper. my dog buddy died on easter sunday a couple years back. we went in the paper and bought another pup shortly after. the next day i went to the pound just because i was in the area and there was my buddy. not the dog i had lost but it could of been his twin. i didnt even have the money to adopt him that day but the guy running the shelter said take him, he was due to be put down that afternoon. i have had buddy#2 for almost 2 years now.

First of all, give yourself a break and tell your parents you need a personal day tomorrow. If you can, sleep late, have a good breakfast, and then do something fun with your parents (if they can). Let yourself cry and be sad, and know that feeling won't last forever. Your cat knows you are sad and miss him, but he is okay and happy where he is. You will be okay, just be good to yourself. Our prayers will be with you.
ps. I hope you get a new pet, soon, not to replace your old one, but to enjoy having another pet.

You should NOT get a new cat to replace the one you have lost. It is very sad but you have to deal with it. Just look back and think of all the fun you had with the cat. Instead of mourning the death, you should be celebrating the life the cat had with you

Bless your heart!! So sorry. There is a normal grief period for all of us who have lost a pet. They are a loved one same as family. No magic answers to this. It takes time. Try to remember the good times with your cat. Don't feel silly for being so sad or let others dismiss your feelings. Share thoughts with your family or friends. This is real heartache and only time will heal that.

Again, so sorry for your loss.

*gives you a hug* I feel bad for you. I would be like that if my cats were to die. try and think of all the happy times and that she isn't in pain anymore. you were a good mother to you. ask your teacher if you could have a day or 2 extention on your paper. Playing in your softball game may help you take your mind off of the pain for a while.

I feel for you.
