Sure! I prefer the dyes that come in paste form. They're least likely to affect the texture of whatever it is your making.

You should not use regular food coloring you should go to your local party supply store like Rojay or Celebrations and buy the dye that is appropriate for chocolate or candy melts. It is a bit different then regular food coloring.

Don't do it the water in the coloring will mess with the chemical bonding of the chocolate and it will tighten up and be a big nasty mass of white crap. Try to find already colored chocolate, I'm sure its out there..

Might change it from shiny to flat, but other than that it's okay. They do make white chocolates that are pre-colored that they available at Michael's Arts & Crafts stores. I use them all the time and they rock!

Only if you use specifically chocolate food coloring. It'll be powdered or paste form.
If you use the liquid water-based food coloring from the supermarket, you'll cause the chocolate to 'sieze', you wont be able to spread it and you'll have to throw it out.

using the colored paste works well with melted chocolate cause it blends right in and it won't change the consistency. the liquid might change the consistency and be little runnier.

It's fine to add food coloring, it won't change a thing.
