have a 03 dodge 1500 with hemi magnum my fuel gauge stops working and check engine light is on cut truck off fuel gauge starts back up but light still on

sounds like an electrical problem i had something similar happen to me in an 03 demo i was driving take it to the dealer and have them scan the electrical system

its prob a relay or the sending unit in the fuel pump. try turining the key to on then off then back to on and then to off and then to on and leave it on without starting the truck and it should give you the codes. this is hwo you can get the codes off a 03 dakota. so I cant see why it wont work on a ram.

you have a loose plug either behind dash or under the hood
or a ground wire is loose or bad the light has to be reset with the ecm fuse
