O.K. first of all do you live close to another state?
If you live within 30 miles of the state line you also need to contact several shelters over the state line if she does'nt come home tonite.
People mistakenly do not think a dog is capable of leaving their own neighborhoods.
I've found many dogs running loose and have called the pound to check on them the next day after turning them over.Several,I was told had been claimed by anxious owners who could'nt believe their dog was picked up 40 miles from home since they'd not been missing that long.
You don't say what breed she is so it's hard to figure out just how much ground she can cover in 5 hours.

Hi there, I am so sorry, here are somethings you can do:
Call all vet offices around you, provide a description of your dog, fax a flyer over, anything

Call local animals shelters/rescues and tell them the same as above, provide any distinctive features your dog has

Call animal control and let them know where you last saw her, etc. along with a description

Get as many friends/family to drive around and help you! Some by car, some on foot.

Good luck and I will keep her in my prayers.

my dog busted out of my house through a screened window once. i called the police station (NOT 911!!), you can get the number in the phone book. they put me in touch with animal control. they had picked up my dog an hour before and i was able to go get him. try that. stray dogs are pretty rare, so if someone sees him they will probably call animal control. they will come and pick him up. call the pound and any shelters in your area as well and describe the dog so they can keep a look out. tell as many people as possible in case someone has him at their home. i hope you find him soon!

Well being on a computer wont help, not trying to be smart but it wont. Ask your neighbors to help and leave dog food on your front porch and back porch. Get a few different pictures and go door to door asking. If you dont find her tonight then put up flyers everywhere! Good luck and I am sorry hope you find her!

I would drive around and look for her, call the local pound see if they have picked one up, call a few of the vets to see if an animal was brought in who was hurt, or maybe even brought in cuz it was lost. Call your vet, if she has a tag on and someone picks her up they should call the vet. look in back yards. and mostly pray.

Good luck

This is an excellent list> http://www.petrescue.com/library/find-pet.htm
I found my last dog through radio announcements. My friend and I found her little dog through posting 500 flyers with pics on them.
Ask children. Kids know who has a new dog, or if one isn't where it belongs. We went the the school principal, and asked for permission to put up flyers on the school grounds. He actually allowed us to visit a couple of classrooms to announce!

Call dog pounds/animal shelters, drive around your area and call the dog, put up flyers, call neighboors and see if they've seen anything. Hope you find him.

You could try fliers... You could also look in the pound to see if anyone has brought him in or even talk to everyone in your neighborhood. Hope that helped...
