I usually sit there not saying anything in fear he'll find something else wrong.

I'm usually as polite as possible. Sometimes when you sit there and don't say anything, it seems like you have an attitude. If you are polite and aren't going 20 mph over the speed limit, you can usually get a warning.

I havens been pulled over in 10 years but when I have been pulled over before that, I always knew what I was being pulled for and would just take the ticket or warning and be on my way. I have been known to laugh at my own stupidity though. I was once pulled over for doing 92 in a 70 (interstate) and when the cop walked up to my window and asked what I was doing, I said I was trying to slow down.

I am always calm and collected, no matter what. I put myself in his/her shoes when they approach my car. I don't fidget, just turn the car off and place my hands on the wheel. I have all my info directly above me in the visor, so no opening up compartments. Plus, I am not doing anything wrong except for driving fast and if I get a ticket, it is well due for.

Usually calm.

One day, I got pulled over and I thought it was a cheap call on the policeman's part. It was raining. So when he walked up to my closed window, I just looked at him, until he signalled me to roll down my window. I rolled it down about 1/4" and asked him what he wanted.

Then I rolled it up and spent 5 minutes casually looking for my license and car papers, all the while he was standing in the rain. He deserved it - he pulled me over for having swerved and braked because a van in the right turn lane suddenly decided to go straight and cut me off. He hadn't seen the van... asshole.

I rarely get pulled over, but when I do it's usually a taillight or something of that nature.... I am polite and usually the officer is polite..... never say you are in a hurry it is disrespectful and can tend to tick them off.... they are only doing their job.

I try to be as calm & collected as I can be, and super polite. If you start rambling he might think you're hiding something.
