I live in Franklin County, OH. I can go to the County Auditor's website, click 'Property Search', and search by Parcel ID, Owner, or Street Address. The results include the legal owner, address, last sale amount and date, and tax information.

The tax assessor's office will have that information. The owner's name is a matter of public record. They may not give you the home address (if different from the property itself) or a phone number for privacy reasons.

Bostonian's answer is correct.

Many counties, but far from all, have the info available online on properties, including the owners name but probably not the address if it's different from the property you are researching.

You'll need the "folio number" or identification number assigned by the City or County.

You can access any City's or County's website and retrieve owners information (its all on public record), but you have to have the real estate's identifying number.
