I found that using a 3 or 4 blade razor, and running over the area just once keeps me from getting razor burn. And if you do that every 2 or 3 days, you can keep it pretty smooth with no bumps.

well they attempt to shave that area instead of waxing..... The hairs.. in your bikini area.. and under your arms are much coarser... than other hairs on your body... they tend to ingrow... or start ingrowing.. sometimes.. more than 1 hair growing out of each hair follicle... also .. these areas are prone to bacteria growth.. so those.. little bumps (ingrown or partly growning hairs still under the skin) get inflammed (red) and possibly infected.... (red and pus filled)... It really is best to Wax those areas... exfoliation if your going to shave them... scrub.. 1st... and then use some kinda antibiotic cream such as neosporin... there are OTC creams.. for razor burns... bikini bumps.. but I again say if you have this issue... although it is more painful... WAX ... so much smoother.. less hair grows in the long term... and is softer and less coarse when it does... good luck
Addition.... NEW RAZOR>>> DIRECTION OF HAIR GROWTH EACH TIME>> BUT I AGAIN SUGGEST WAXING
