no sitting to close does not hurt ur eye sight or reading in the dark it just stresses your eyes and they become tired so until you go to sleep ur eyes may be a little blurry and tired. dont listen to anyone who says different i am an optomitrist its my job to know

Yes it does. Watching computers/TVs put a strain on your eyes.... contributing to the deterioration of your eyesight.

if you sit too close it will, same thing for reading too much and being on the computer for too long.
