The real indicator would be to ask yourself whether these things you have mentioned make you anxious?
If so, a lot of what you have written sounds like OCD, though obviously nobody here can diagnose you properly.
OCD is a chronic condition, but it is treatable with a combination of therapy (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and sometimes drugs, if necessary.
I suggest you do some reading on OCD and the various methods used to treat it.
Books like Brain Lock (Jeffrey Schwartz) and Imp of the Mind (Lee Baer, I think) may help you. Read up on the condition and you should see more options open to you from there.

I'm not a doctor, but I do the same kind of things. I count things a lot, obsess over sick thoughts that I would never tell anyone about...etc. I think to some degree, most is normal. By definition, abnormal human behavior can only be described at behaviors that are self-destructive. Our nation is completely over-medicated. We watch commercials for medications and convince ourselfs we have those symptoms. I think a lot of it is in my head. I can go to a psychologist, tell them my symptoms and get a diagnosis for whatever mental disorder I want. Just ask yourself, are these problems real? Is it causing probems with in my life? Is it holding me back? Or is this just me.... Then you can deside what the best method of treatment is for you.

Does it affect you life? Does it make you unhappy?
I reckon you;re just to clever for your own good you mind is racing for stimulation.
Learn to relax your mind meditation or a menial repetitive hobby such as knitting etc. Do without thinking trust you instincts more and try not to analyze everything to the minutest detail when it isn't necessary.
Remember your brain is an organ in your body it belongs to you not the other way round.

I am not a doc but i have a friend who has OCD and she does all the things you said you do......if you do it all the time then I would side with yes....but also, before you get all freaked, it is about the best kind of disorder a person can have.....I am not a doc but i know there are medications that can help you relax and stop the compulsive behavior, or, if it doesn't bug you and doesn't interfere with your life then it is okay.

Ask your family doctor for a referral to a psychiatrist. OCD is a treatable disorder with medications and therapy. It's very common and there are a lot of support groups for people who have it. Try looking on Google or Yahoo for some online support groups, and go get it treated so you don't feel yourself slowly going nuts.

Yes. Do you have suicidal thoughts or thoughts of hurting yourself? If so, go to your doctor immediately! Otherwise, make an appointment and they should be able to find a prescription that can help. In your spare time, try to catch an episode of "Monk" on USA.

I am no doctor but I have O.C.D. also. For as long as I remember I have counted just the same as you do. I count prime numbers in my head for no reason other than it's familiar. I check things 8 times. I donno why. Your number may be six ...mine is 8. I have to do a lot of things 8 times just to be shure I did them right. Don't worry everything you do is normal.

i would definetly look into that, it surely sounds like it. Read the story "Just Checking" by Emily Colas, i had similar problems but after reading that book i seemed to overcome them.
Read it, and good luck.
