Some alternatives would be a toy from a dollar store, an inexpensive book, some fruit and even money for the piggy bank. It all depends on how old the child is and what they are interested.

Dried fruits. Pineapple is very sweet and is good for keeping you regular. If you have access to a place where they sell snowcones, many of them offer sugar-free flavors. As for food non-food treats, stickers, finger painting, going to the library (kids love to get their own card and pick out books).

I still give my children Popsicles. I just give them the sugar free ones. They cost only a few cents more. The ones that I get are from Walmart. They are in the freezer section all the way at the bottom where no one looks (with the cheap stuff). I get the sugar free twin pops. (I think thats the name)

Be ready for a mess depending on the children's ages.

Goldfish crackers are the equivilant of a gallon of ice cream to my daughter. :) Same goes for fruit snacks, and grapes.

Its all up to you and how you present the snack the first time. If you make a HUGE deal about how it's such a special treat, even if it's green beans, your child will strive for it.

NEVER EVER GIVE A CHILD SWEETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give him/her fruit instead. Fruits have a natural sugar which does not effect the behavior/mood of a child.
Or, a treat could be a sticker or special trip to somewhere...

besides for sweets you can give them some priceless things like Storytime where you read a book to them or go to the park (or any little trip) make sure to tell them why what they did was good and prasie them too so they want to keep up their attitude!

Try goldfish crackers or even fruit snacks. I also give my kids apples, oranges, and bananas as treats and they love them.

Good for you! Go-gurt (yogurt in fun tubes - you can freeze them too!), pretzels, raisins, natural fruit leather, string cheese, graham crackers & frozen orange juice pops.

Good luck!

Frozen grapes and peaches or other fruits are sweet, good and they make a good alternative to Popsicles!

Fruit obviously... but frozen fruit like grapes is more fun, and sweeter for some reason.
