they have a 5 yr olds menatlity when they argue, "because god can do anything!"

isnt that the same idea behind a 5 yr old who thinks his dad can do anything?

So true. And the books they believe God wrote! Really, if god created all the marvelous things on this planet millions of years ago, I doubt he would have regressed to writing such bs stories.

I would say that most of them do not understand their faith and/or reality very well.

I am a Christian and I have had VERY good discussions with non-Christians. By very good, I do not mean that I converted them or anything, but that we both came away knowing more.

Most Christians believe as they do with such conviction that any kind of challenge to that belief provokes a defensive reaction. They either do not know their faith very well, do not have enough faith in their chosen faith, or their faith does not sufficiently provide them with the necessary answers.

Most of the time I feel the answer is the latter. If there is no explanation, they seem to run and hide to the "God can do anything" answer and just try to ignore the fact that they do not know why. For it is the "why" that really matters in the end. Is it not?

Yes. I agree. And I wonder what happens when Christians at this stage of spiritual development begin to move into the equivalent of the teenage years. What happens to them when they begin to question their belief system? Are they able to traverse this stage and become adult Christians - or - do they give up their faith and look for something that allows them freedom of thought and expression? Do they attempt to find a new form of spirituality that allows them to express their divine nature while honoring their intellect and curiosity?

I wonder...

Very true. Unfortunately a little child wouldn't go to the son of a body builder and try it with him. christinas however go up and challenge scientifically observed facts with contradictory unsupported Bronze age myth. Say no to jesus

So you're saying that because there are Christians who are at that stage that there aren't Christians who are more mature? By your logic you are a five year old.

YES!!! Annoying as hell, isn't it? I would have a lot more respect for someone who would just say "I don't know" than to give me an answer like that. Takes away from their credibility. (Well, if they had any to begin with)

Can I just say how cute I think it is when a Christian thinks something is far-fetched?
