In the beginning was the word and the word spread the earth like water intermingling with the flesh, and Jesus came amongst us to create understanding by making water and earth balance again

Earth, water, fire and air were thought of as the fundamental elements of all creation.

Christians believe that Christ was actually the physical agent of creation, and as part of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) he was perfectly in balance with the Father and Holy Spirit.

The Paradox is Jesus existed in a form before he was born on earth. That form is beyond our simple understanding. Paradoxical images can help us understand that form.

So to answer the question, Jesus was water and fire (and earth and air) all at the same time.

He was also the Lion of Judah, and the lamb that was slain. The Lion shall lay down with the lamb!
