Well I told this guy im talking to i was going outta town for the weekend, when really i was spending time with another guy i only see about once a year.

Vinslave gave a good answer. If it comes back to haunt you that's part of the karmic cycle as well. We all have to weigh our intentions and accept what happens if something comes back to 'haunt' us. A ritual you can try (I learned this from my Geshe) removes 'bad karma' or at least lessens its impact on cyclic existence and it very simple:
You go before an object/text/spiritual leader...something that truly means something to you.
You really cultivate remorse (not guilt, there's a difference)
And promise never to do that to someone again.....
It's a good little ritual and it may make you feel better. Best to you.

Part of the karmic weight is in:

Whether harm was caused by the thought/action.
Whether the intent was to cause harm.
If you enjoyed the action/thought and the harm it caused.

ETC.

Only you can examine your own deeds and determine if they are virtuous vs. non-virtuous, if you want to add in the Buddha's teachings on it.
