Oh,dear, you might as well outlaw poetry and literature, art and music. Don't you know that we have an irrational aspect to our psyche, that our unconscious speaks to us in parables and pictures? We would be outlawing our humanity if we did that.

Didn't watch the movie...don't have an hour and a half to blow. Religion should not be outlawed; as thought, belief, and speech are all intrinsic human rights. False hope is still hope and irrational thoughts are fun. Atheism is boring, limited and lame. Why be limited to fact, when you could be limitless by hope? The choice is logical....religion stays! And you can take that to the bank.

In due time all religions will vanish. You do not need to have it outlawed. All people will be one in their thoughts and in building a world of peaceful children, not controlled, not brainwashed, not hating one another. It is not far fetched and it is not a mere hope but is going to be true. No longer will there be anyone to go into you and say know thy God because reality from the truth will emerge and everyone will no longer slave of ignorance.

Do you think outlawing organized religion is going to change anyone's mind? I doubt it, seriously. If someone said Atheism will not be tolerated, if you claim to be an Atheist, you'll get thrown in jail... would this make you change your mind about Atheism? Would you then search for a religion? Or would you fight against it? =) Why would you think this would be any different for others?

No. Saying that an individual cannot be without their beliefs is the same as forcing you to go to church and declare you are a Christian.

And sometimes, even false hope can give you strength in time of need.

I'm an atheist, but as an american, I strongly believe in the freedom of religion.

but also the separation of church and state.

I rented "Jesus Camp" this weekend. One of the scariest movie's I've seen in a long time. This is certainly not the proper use of religion.

Are you suggesting that we give up our rights and freedoms and go back under dictatorship, I suppose wth you as the dictator?

Don't try and turn this to a commie/facsist country when there are plenty for you to go to. BTW you can't 'outlaw' God, ya think.

It was tried, but communism didn't really work out. Grow up!
