Gotta love the Meaty Pop!

To be completely frank, I am not the type of person that holds a deep affinity to the Mormon faith. (just read some of my mormon answers)

However, I am aware that just because the Mormon Church teaches some crazy things, that doesn't mean that Mormons are dangerous. For instance, Mitt Romney served a term as governor in Massachussets and had no problem enacting policy according to the people's wishes, even when that policy went directly against the Church's doctrine.

Romney is the only GPO candidate to have had only one wife, which is somewhat humorous since he's mormon, but nevertheless, he's the one with the strongest family values. Other than his religion and an ambiguous stance on a couple of social issues (gay rights, stem cell, etc.), no one can find anything on him to discredit him. He was a highly successful CEO, he saved the Salt Lake Olympics after the fraud and capital losses that preceeded him, and he even turned a $3 billion deficit in Massachussets into a $1 billion surplus. He did this without raising taxes, and one of the first "budget cuts" he made was his own salary. He worked as governor for free, but he never mentions it and many people don't even know about that.

Anyway, in conclusion, let's poke fun at whomever we'd like and do it in a constructive way, but labels are something that I have difficulty applying. One Mormon (Harry Reid, D) can be VERY different politically than another (Romney, R).

Well, since I'm both a christian and a Mormon, I can say that his standards are very high. He believes in the family, and in God. He believes in Christ and the atonement for us. He believes that Christ is our savior and that through him, we can have eternal life.

He believes that the family is the center of the community, and that all families need to the center of our physical world, but Christ should be at the center of everything.

He doesn't believe in drinking, smoking, or illegal drug use, and doesn't use these substances. That also means that he doesn't drink coffee, but so do other people that aren't Christian, so should that matter??

He believes that we should all do good to our fellow man, and that charity is a very good thing. He believes in giving to charity and to others and I think he could really help with the national budget and the problems of feeding our nation.

So what if some of his beliefs are a little different from the norm? So what if he thinks a little different. Maybe that's just what this country needs.

That being said, I wouldn't vote for him just because he's LDS. I would vote for him for the person he is, the person he projects himself as. Not only that, but if it's a choice between him or Hillary, he'll get my vote anytime!!!!!! Sorry to all those Hillary supporters out there!!

Oh Mormons are Christians. If you think different, fine, but you should read this page before you get on your high horse and say we aren't. Also, I posted a link to our church's website.. then you can get info on us straight from the horses mouth, and not from someone who knows nothing about us!!

Realst1- How dare you say those things without checking into them first!! You are the type of person that couldn't see truth if it bit you in the butt! Please take the time to learn a little before you say such things. It might just come back and bite you later!! Also, Joseph Smith wasn't a David Karesh type. He never, EVER said he was God, or Christ. He was killed not for trying to get the townspeoples women, but for his general beliefs. We don't have multiple wives!!!!!!!! Please read a little history before you say such things! Also we aren't affiliated with the polygamists now, so don't say things like we rape and marry little girls, or we practice incest. We don't!! In fact, anyone who is found to practice this is automatically excommunicated. Thanks for pointing out how wrong you can be about us. Makes telling you the truth that much more fun!!

Well, considering what "Mormons" believe, I'd be thrilled to have an honest practicing "Mormon" in the White House... in any capacity.

"Mormons" believe that the family is the foundation of society- as long as families are healthy and function reasonably well, a lot of the problems we currently have wouldn't be around.

"Mormons" believe that personal integrity is vital to any leadership or service position... Now that would be a breath of fresh air- an honest leader!!

"Mormons" believe that leadership is about serving those you lead. Hmmmm, to have the people's best interest at the top of the president's prioritites? Yeah!!!

This guy has proven his religion doesn't affect the way he will act in elected office, other than it making him a moral, family oriented person. If someone were to vote for or against someone just because of their religion they would be a bigot. This would be the case if they didn't vote for someone if they were Muslim, Mormon, Catholic, Atheist, whatever. We should be voting for someone with our ideals for the country, who will push a majority of the agenda we want and who will be honest. If when it comes time to vote I am convinced Romney is these things then I would vote for him, if not oh well. (It will be tough for me because I've typically leaned Democrat, but I won't judge someone for their faith).

Everyone should have known that a loaded question like this one was going to bring them out of the woodwork. Which was what meatbot was going for, I guess.

What's scary for me is someone like Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell as president. Anyone from those camps who would win ARE going to be puppets.

Who would not want an honest, very experienced, sucessful, family oriented man as president.

People have had to vote for men with religions other than their own for a long time. You vote for the man not for his religion.

As long as there is a good Christian in the government anywhere...may the good Lord Bless you my friend. These are weird times. I've met athiests with more morals than my Christian neighbor. Go figure. He works in mysterious ways.

If any Christian answers this question with, "Mormons have wierd beliefs" they are setting themselves up for a really bad rebuttal. LOL.

Perhaps the only thing that would concern me is if this "Mormon" in question actually believes what their scriptures say about black people being cursed and not entering heaven etc.
