I thought the AVG was free. If not, does anyone know of a good anti-virus that yopu don't have to pay for.
Many thanks

The AVG 7.5 has a paid version and a free version.
Here is the link to the free version. Make sure you uninstall the other one.

If you go to Grisoft.com & look for " AVG Free Edition 7.5 " anti virus, you should get the right one that's free, the one you got is the full version. Since AVG's free edition has no firewall, you can get one free at Windows Market Place's security section & look for " Windows Defender". It's free & can be set for auto up-dates in the middle of the night. I have the free AVG , and it's set for up-dates on start up each day, otherwise I'd forget, and the up-dates are vital. Hope I was helpful.

Here's the link for the free version.

You'll need to uninstall the version that you've installed first before installing this one.

it seems you hve EITHER downloaded the ediciton that isn't free OR have downloaded tyhe update for 7.1. Go to the site http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ and try again. If you register you will getg a licence code anyway.
