Aveda's Madder Root shampoo and conditioner will help regain and retain those red highlights! If you choose to only use one of these - choose the conditioner. It has more coloring power - just wash with any color safe shampoo (preferrably salon brand - Aveda's Color Conserve??) and apply the conditioner evenly. Comb it through to ensure even coverage. Use it everytime you wash until the highlights are the desired color. Then use it every third time you wash. (Just be sure to use color-safe products in the meantime). Good luck!

I have red highlights as well. I used to use Redkin Color Extend shampoo and conditioner- that helped a little.
Now, however, my stylist told me about Pureology. It's a shampoo/conditioner line that is formulated exclusively for color treated hair. And it really works! Of course, there will always be some fading, but I feel that Pureology helped the most. And it's great because there are lines within it - hydrating, volume boosting, etc. so you can have the best of both worlds! One warning, though: it's pretty pricey.

I like to use hair care products that don't have a lot of chemicals in them.
When my hair was colored red, I used the Red Hair Shampoo by JASON.
Good luck,
Leslie

You do realize that highlights will fade because it is not natural. You have to keep the highlights up or wash your hair less until the next touch up.
