to claim that many of the absurdities and horrific tales of death and hatred in the bible are "taken out of context" and are "allegorical."

Rational people know that this is nonsense, but I'd love for a Christian to indulge me and tell me what the fig tree story is "allegory" for. What is the message behind Jesus' childish little temper tantrum, and lack of omni-anything?

The fig tree is symbolic of a christian that doesn't witness to others, doesn't help those in need, and never shows a change to be more like god. therefore when god looks at this person, there are no fruit's in his/her life so on judgement day this person will wither in damnation for being unproductive as a christian. being a christian your are supposed to be christ-like. If you never show any of the attributes or characteristics of christ in your life, you are just like that fig tree, unfruitful.

Jesus is Lord of everything, even the trees of the earth. If the tree isn't producing good fruit, what use is it. Everyone needs to produce good fruit. But you probably don't know what I mean.

Not sure exactly what instance you are talking about. But I do know you are blind, arrogant, and stupid. People in the old teastement that were killed deserved it if you are talking about people such as anak, and og and so on. They were the giants from the offspring of fallen angels and woman. They were inhabiting the land which didn't belong to them. Get your facts straight and mabye you wouldn't be so stupid or arrogant enough to think in your little pea brain that you know more than God.

Whatever...it never ceases to amaze me how much anger and hatred some non-Christians have toward Christians...you pick us apart to suit your own belief's and accuse us of twisting things to OUR benefit.... all we have ever done is try to help you see what we believe and invite you to be a part of us....all you seem to want is to start crap and blame it on us....why in the world would you want an "Irrational" (your word) christian to explain anything to you....apparently you are educated enough to figure it out yourself...so please stop asking us question's you don't even WANT the answer to.

Wow! Did you get that out of your system?!

Sounds like someone needs a hug.

Or, do we need to notify your family and friends of your impending "postal" act?
