Yes, you should at least pay for the ticket. Everything else should be decided on before hand. The tux we can assume he'll take care of. Limo and Dinner can be in question. If a guy asked you to the prom, would you expect him to cover dinner and limo? Nothing wrong with going dutch. As long as both of you agree and there are no suprises. (who knows maybe he'll want to spring for the limo and dinner)

Yes I do believe since it is your prom that you should buy the tickets. I think it's wonderful that you stepped out of the traditional style and you did the asking. Have a great prom girly those only happen in your lifetime one time around (well twice ) junior and senior year but I mean once around in your high school years. Enjoy it!!!!

I think the girl should pay. But if he was a gentleman, he would pay. Why don't the both of you just go half on everything, this will avoid any problem that may arise from money. Have fun, my prom was 27 years ago.

While you are doing the asking, becasue of what the prom is and what it stands for, I believe that the guy should always pay here. And in most case, I am sure that the guy will have no problem paying. If you asked me, I would certainly pay for you.

I think the guy will probably pay but make sure to offer to at least split the cost, especially if it's someone who's going with you as a favor (like your friend's brother) as opposed to someone who really likes you. Tuxedoes, food, flowers, tickets....it can add up. It's polite to at least offer to help out, though he'll probably decline.

If you asked him, you should pay for both tickets, your dress, makup, etc, and your half of the dinner and limo. He should pay for his tux, and his half of the dinner and limo.

yeah i guess you'd have to pay for the ticket, and why don't you go dutch on dinner? it hardly seems fair to ask the guy out and then have him pay for dinner too.. of course, if he insists on paying, then its your call.. have fun though!!

Anything you would expect the guy to pay for if he had asked you, would be your responsibility to pay if you ask him, unless you explicitly negotiate something different at the time you ask him.
