Well... start by not giving him Sprite or Mountain Dew. That stuff is pure sugar. Try giving him fresh or not from concentrate juice. Kids respond to the sweetness and it's much better for him. (orange, grape, pineapple... just make sure it's a brand that doesn't add sugar) Plus, lots of juices come with calcium (orange in particular). Also try Lactaid. It's gerat for people who are lactose intolerant and tastes about the same. Soymilk is not nearly as good.

Kool-Aid ? Sprite? Mountain Dew? I am hoping this question is a joke. None of these things have any nutritional value and children of any age have no business drinking them. My kids are 4 and 6 they drink water, 100% juice or milk and during the hot months Gatorade or Propel. If your child is lactose intolerant, buy lactose free products. By giving them the other junk this early on you are teaching them poor eating habits that are likely to last a lifetime. If your child is drinking these things I cannot imagine what they must be eating. I think you should look up some healthy and nutritious foods for your child or talk to your pediatrician who can give you a lot of good ideas.

Soda actually blocks calcium absorbtion-so cut it now. Try soy milk and 100 % juice. Koolaide is sugar water-don't drink that stuff. And even good quality juice has sugar so mix it with water (2/3 juice to 1/3 water). And set a good example-cut the soda from your diet too.

Sprite and Mountain Dew AREN'T NUTRITIOUS DRINKS. Give him fruit juices, vegetable juices, and water.Water, though less appealing, won't kill him (According to the song by Fela, water has no enemies)

sprite and mtn dew are not nutritous, neither is kool-aid.
Enriched rice milk; or chocolate soy milk for a treat.
Juice-give him every kind and find out which is his favorite.
Make sure he also drinks a lot of water.

my son can not tolerate milk so we have tried vanilla soy milk and he likes it. I also give him unsweet iced tea and he loves that too. Mountain dew is more for older kids. I dont even give my 7 year old that. she would be off the walls. lol

My daughter is allergic to milk so I give her soy milk. She uses it on her cereal and drinks it like any kid would drink milk. We get the Vanilla Soy and she loves it. Also, try the 100% juices, instead of that other junk. If you decide to give him carbonated drinks, mix it with water.

IF HE LIKES MILK AND JUST CANT HAVE IT...TRY SOY FLAVORED MILKS LIKE CHOCOLATE WHICH TASTE GREAT !!! TRY APPLE, ORANGE, CRANBERRY JUICE OR OF COURSE GOOD 'OL WATER. YOU CAN'T CONTINUE TO JUST LET HIM DRINK JUNK OR IN THE LONG RUN YOU MIGHT END UP WITH AN EVEN BIGGER PROBLEM, THE DENTISTRY BILL !!! HOW OLD IS HE ? THE YOUNGER THE MORE INTENSE THE PROBLEM WILL BE IF YOU DAMAGE HIS TEETH. GODD LUCK !!!
