I am going to buy a new camera this weekend, and I was wondering a couple of things:
a) does anyone know of any big sales going on?
b) can anyone recommend any good cameras on sale for around $200 that are good with online scrapbooking programs?
c) I'd like to be able to use this as well at night, and I want it user friendly...not a lot of buttons, and hard to figure out. Also I would like a zoom lens.

I currently have one of the old Olympus Colored cameras that were popular a few years ago. It is still a good camera, but it is becoming harder and harder to find parts for it, I had to order a battery charger from the website, and it took forever to find it on there. Any advice would be appreciated.

Look at the Canon A550..... it's 7.1 megapixels..
it takes AA batteries.. has a 4X optical zoom
and can be bought for less than $200...

J&R Music was selling it for $183.

I have an older model the A510 and it's great.

a- no big sales. The digital camera industry is fiercely competitive with new models constantly being released. major on-line retailers offer the best deals, although sometimes your local stores, such as Best Buy or Circuit city are so close in price that you might as well give the biz to your local brick and morter retailer. You can't go wrong with retailers such as BHphotovideo or NewEgg for pricess and service.

b. There are lotsa' good cameras in that price range. Any would have sufficient quality for 'scrapbooking' usage.

c. For night use, there is one line of compact cameras that have 2-3 stops better light sensitivity. (that's 4 to 8 times faster shutter speed for less blurry images). Consider the Fuji F20 for $150ish.

I recommend the Samsung NV10:

I just picked this camera up cause I heard it was a great camera and it truly is. The picture quality is fantastic and it's not to exspensive. It's a 10 megapixel camera and it has new touch smart technology in it which makes thumbing through your pictures a breeze.

Its known for taking low lit shots and this seems to be what you are looking for in your new investment.

Here is a video of the new touch smart technology I was talking about:

I think you will like it, I love it!!
