How do they determine whether your total visa expires in 3 months or in 5 years. I need my girlfriends to last at least 5 years. What should I do????

from what I remember reading you can stay in the U.S. for 6 months maximum but they will allow a maximum of a 5 year expiration on the visa so you can travel back and forth

Actually the B2 lengths are meant to be short term--about six months. 5 years isn't even an option. They can vary a little depending on what country she is from. However, there is no way that she'll get one for 5 years. Period.

I think he meant girlfriend's... not multiple... calm down...
Anyways... I would say, go to you local INS official, explain your concerns and see what they can do about it.
