My friends (guys and girls) and I were discussing this question. Is your partner's job a question of status? if you had to pick let's say between an architect, a mechanic, and an accountant, would any of these jobs turn you on, or turn you off? or does it matter at all? be honest, i'm just interested.
How about for the guys- does a girl's job or career matter?

[We decided that for us, a job is sort of important in the end]

It's important to me that they can financially support themselves. I don't need any one else to support. I always like mechanics. They come in handy when your car needs worked on.

Yes, it matters a great deal.
Of the 3, I would definitely want the architect.
Accountant - seems very boring
Mechanic - not to be a snob, but not really someone on my level.
But the funny thing is... I was with a millionaire businessman for many years, then, much to my own surprise, I fell for a WAITER! Very unexpected, to say the least. So I'm a hypocrite. Ignore my answer! :)

I was very much snob in this area but I wound up marrying someone who didn't have the fancy job like the men I used to date. I am glad I gave h im a chance because he is the greatest guy and it turns out I was very worng about his profession. He makes quite a nice salary... so now I have it all.
