Jesus is the rider of the white horse in Rev 19:11. The rider in Rev 6:1-2 is different. Has only a crown where the one in Rev 19 has many crowns.

White Horse: Deception = Revelation 6:1-2

Satan's counterfeit Christianity

" In Matthew 24, outlining a scenario that begins with false prophets and proceeds on through war, famine, disease, tribulation and dramatic heavenly signs, Christ describes the events leading up to His return from heaven. The parallel with Revelation 6 is remarkably clear. Notice what John records. He first sees Jesus Christ take the scroll from the Father and open the first seal. When this occurs, an angel tells John to come and look. John then sees a rider on a white horse wearing a crown and holding a bow (Revelation 6:1–2). Many have carelessly assumed that the rider is Christ, since Revelation 19 describes the returned Christ riding a white horse. This assumption could not be more wrong! In Matthew 24, and in the parallel accounts of Mark 13 and Luke 21, Jesus talks about false "Christs." He says that some "will come in My name" and say that Jesus is the Christ, yet will deceive many. How can someone use Christ’s name, yet deceive people? By substituting a different message in place of the one He actually taught (Mark 7:7)!
History shows that there have been false teachers, wars, diseases, famines and religious persecutions throughout the almost 2,000 years since Jesus Christ spoke those words on the Mount of Olives. What is different about the events occurring after the seals are opened? Revelation 6 reveals that, in the end-time, mankind will experience these age-old scourges occurring with far greater magnitude than ever before.
Notice what Paul taught regarding the Day of the Lord and the events surrounding the time of Christ’s return. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, he explained that the Day of the Lord "will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition." Who is that "man of sin"? Down through the centuries, there have been many men of sin and many antichrists (1 John 2:18; 2 John 7). However, the one of whom Paul speaks in 2 Thessalonians is the specific one whom Christ will destroy at His coming (v. 8). This connects him with the one labeled the False Prophet, whom Christ will destroy at His return (Revelation 19:20).
2 Thessalonians 2 tells us more about this end-time false prophet. He will make blasphemous claims, proclaiming his divinity and demanding worship (v. 4), and will work miraculous signs through satanic power (v. 9; cf. Matthew 24:24; Revelation 13:13–14). This final false religious leader, undoubtedly a very smooth and charismatic individual, will cut a dramatic swath on the world scene. He will not label himself as "antichrist," but rather will present himself as the leader of the entire Christian church.
Remember, Jesus said that individuals would come in His name saying that Jesus is the Christ, not in the name of some false gods or merely in their own names (Matthew 24:5). Paul also explained that Satan appears as an "angel of light," and that his ministers seek to appear as "ministers of righteousness" (2 Corinthians 11:14–15). The religious system that will yet produce this end-time man of sin was already at work in Paul’s day. Paul called this system the "mystery of lawlessness"—an outgrowth of the old Babylonian mystery religion that promoted the false idea that God’s law was "done away" and no longer need be kept. Though this system of false Christianity was already beginning in the first century, the final man of sin would not be allowed to emerge until the proper time (2 Thessalonians 2:6–7).
When this final False Prophet arises on the world scene, true Christians will be able to recognize exactly where we are in the scope of prophecy. The first seal will have been opened, and its end-time fulfillment will have been manifested. The opening of the other seals will follow quickly thereafter. "

WHO IS THE ANTI-CHRIST?

I'm going to put this in a simple way for you to understand it. Anti-Christ means "against Christ"; in other words is against Jesus and his teachings.
PHIL.2:21 "FOR ALL SEEK THEIR OWN, NOT THE THINGS WHICH ARE JESUS CHRIST'S."

The Anti-Christ is the "lawless one"; the "man of sin" which "opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped..." 2Thess.2:3-4

DANIEL 7:25 tells us "HE SHALL SPEAK GREAT WORDS AGAINST THE MOST HIGH, AND SHALL WEAR OUT THE SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH, AND THINK TO CHANGE TIMES AND LAWS..."

ROM.1:25 = "WHO CHANGED THE TRUTH OF GOD INTO A LIE, AND WORSHIPPED AND SERVED THE CREATURE MORE THAN THE CREATOR, WHO IS BLESSED FOR EVER. AMEN."

Evidence: (Catholics know when the seventh day is)
"1. Is Saturday the 7th day occording to the Bible & the 10 Commandments.
"I answer yes.
"2. Is Sunday the first day of the week & did the Church change the 7th day--Saturday---for Sunday, the 1st. day:
"I answer yes.
"3. Did Christ change the day

"Ans.--Saturday is the Sabbath day.
"Ques.--Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
"Ans.--We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."--Peter Geiermann, The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1946 ed.), p.50. Geiermann received the "apostolic blessing" of Pope Pius x on his labors, Jan.25,1910.

"Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act...And the act is a Mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things." ---H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons.

{Note: Catholics even changed the time you do the Sabbath too. They say "midnight to midnight"; when the Bible says "evening to evening" according to Genesis 1:5,8,13,19,23,31 and Lev.23:32.}

TEN COMMANDMENTS IN OLD TESTAMENT
1. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath. or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation that hate Me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep my commandments.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
5. Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ***, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.

Many feel that this is the Antichrist. But in God's word the Bible, there are many antichrists, existing even in the first century when the apostle John wrote about them. Some people do feel that there is one special antichrist out there; charismatic and powerful. But this rider is on a white horse. In scripture, white is always synonymous with righteousness and purity. Compare please, Revelation 19:11 where we read of a rider on a white horse. This rider is called faithful and true, carrying on war in righteousness. Further description makes it obvious that this one is Christ Jesus in his heavenly position. Verse 14 reports that he leads the armies of heaven, who are all riding white horses, clothed in white clean fine linen. Verse 15 describes him as having a long sword protruding from his mouth which he uses to strike the nations and then shepherd them with a rod of iron.

The rider in Revelation 6:2 is none other than Christ Jesus on a ride which will culminate in his conquest.

I believe it is a reference to Psalm 45:4.
Which case Christ would be the conqueror.
Please see also Revelation 19:11-16. This will clarify things.
I don't see a very plausable reason to believe that there would be 2 white horses.
The crown in Rev 6. Is a crown of righteousness. This is after all, Christ's power.
As you see later in the Revelation, Christ conquers war, hell and death. These are upon him in the later verses as spiritual crowns.

The riders together are called the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and are Death, War, Famine, and Pestilience. 6:2 reads "6:2 And behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow. A crown was given to him, and he came forth conquering, and to conquer." With this description, I would assume this rider is War (conquering and to conquer)

REV6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
REV6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
REV6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
REV6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
REV6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
REV6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
REV6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
REV6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Only one of the horsemen is called by name and that is Death on the pale horse. The other riders have been interperated to be Pestilence on the White, War on the Red and Famine on the Black.

Of course in any large conflict those are the conditions you find.

2007-03-26 15:12:26 · answer #5 · answered by Black Dragon 5 · 0 1

The antichrist. These are the same horsemen that are seen during the distress and tribulation of Jerusalem in Zechariah 1. The four horsemen usher in the tribulation period. The rider on the white horse is coming in as "messiah", but he is a false messiah who will betray Israel.

The true Messiah will not come by Himself, but with the armies of heaven dressed in white in Revelation 19:11 as prophesied by Enoch (noted by Jude), “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

So, is the rider coming in alone to conquer? He is the antichrist. Is He coming with an innumerable army to save Israel? He is Christ the King of kings and Lord of lords.

It really doesn't say who is on it, and that doesn't seem to be the important issue. What they do is the important things. One causes war, one brings famine, etc. It certainly is not Christ, but perhaps an angel.
