Tolerance grows thin over the years. Seem the religious dumb assses want to keep getting in your face with their stupid asss beliefs. If they will stop causing ALL the major wars of the world and leave others alone then I believe most will leave them alone. By the way what do you mean by saying "any of you GUYS"? You are another dumb asss by assuming there are only intolerant males in here.

No, Christians cannot have tolerance for religion. They are suppose to have tolerance for those holding to that religion, the individual, and respect them with the love that God has for all of us. I believe that religion is man reaching to God, or a god. True Christianity is god reaching down to man. NASA has a program that can go in the past and in the future to mark the movements of the planets. They found that in the past there are two segments of time missing. One was 23hrs and 20 minutes, and the other 40 minutes. In the book of Joshua from a few thousand years ago, it says that Joshua stopped the sun for the most part of a day. In 2nd Kings 20:8-11, it say that the prophet caused the shadow of the sun to go back 10 degrees, which is 40 minutes. If you can ignore that, than you have built a wall around yourself to be protected from the truth. There is a lot more in the bible that people do not take time to learn about and it is so important.

All the criticism and intolerance kind of lends to the idea that if that's all they know how to do, that's probably what they grew up with, criticism and intolerance. I am part of a Church program called "Crosstrainers". It's evident to me that there is a problem in our communities when there are 500% more children in our churches than adults - it's a show of what 'our' children are needing and not getting from home or family. They wouldn't go looking for God unless they need him - children are of God (I believe) and goodness, what they are lacking they will search out and find. One of my prayers is that these children will one day all show up with all of their parents! With that many people in one room expressing that love for God (or what you call "Him") any person is sure to feel the intensity of emotions, it's overwhelming.

Good point. Tolerance is an important quality in some of us, but so many others are incredibly judgmental. I love learning about other religions, but I can't stand seeing atheists constantly complaining about Christa ins. Why can't we all just accept each other, and not criticize every little belief that we have?

In my experience I've found that when people have a crisis of faith they react in two ways. One constructive, the other not. They can either examine themselves, see what is wrong with them and change it; or they can restrengthen their faith by attacking everyone else's. This fortifies their faith by demonstrating, mostly to their own mind, that the other religions are foolish, and they no longer need to be bothered by doubts.
Most atheists, wiccans, agnostics, pagans and others in America were raised Christians. Deep inside they still hear ther own mind questioning if their abandonment of that faith was the right choice, so they reconfirm that choice by attacking Christians.
Christians are surrounded by a secular culture, so they feel the need to refortify their faith by attacking atheism.
People of real faith from all those groups don't attack the others because they are not insecure. They hear and may try to convince, but they don't attack.

I agree. I'm not a member of any organized religion either, but I actually ask questions to try to gain greater understanding about a religion, not to attack it.

Jered - I don't think its everyone...its only that those who are mean, nasty and abusing of other's beliefs make more "waves". I know some really tolerant people on here and they get over looked a lot. And yes, if we are to love others, tolerance is part of that...and support is to.

Depends on what you mean by "dig". If questioning certain beliefs is considered a dig then my guess is that you are one of those with a persecution complex. Many people here get upset just because their particular belief is called into question.
