Don't fall into either of those. Yes men do them and yes you can lose weight, but it doesn't teach you to have an appreciation of healthy living. Jenny Craig simply provides you with meals instead of having you learn to make healthy choices and cook healthy. Also both are very expensie.
Weight watchers, in my opinion and from personal experience, is the best option. It's simply a form of counting calories and ensuring you eat all food groups in proper portions. It also teaches about exercise and allows you free space to treat yourself ocassionally. It's relatively cheaper. I lost 40lbs in 8 months. You also build a great support network. You can do it online or go to meetings (my recommendation).
