No it is not a true Toy Breed. Your dog is what they refer to as a Designer Mix. It really doesn't matter how much he weighs, as the breed is not recognized by the AKC and there is no breed standard. Also, in all actuality, the bigger your puppy gets, the healthier he will probably be. Small toy breeds are notorious for having a multitude of health problems. As for how big he will eventually be, that depends alot on how big the parents were. Didn't you see the parents before you bought the dog. One should never, I repeat NEVER purchase a puppy from anyone who is not willing to show the parents or purchase a puppy from pet store that will not give the name and address of the breeder, as you can almost guarantee that these dogs are from puppy mills.

It is not a purebred toy breed, but a mix of two toy breeds. Dogs grow at various rates. When you get a mixed breed, there is a lot of variation even within a single litter and it is hard to tell his mature size at this point. If both parents are under 6 lbs., then chances are good he will be too. If one was bigger, you might get a dog bigger than 6 lbs.

well, realistically, it probably won't exceed 6lbs and if so, 10 lbs max.
It was however, extremely irresponsible to "assure" you of such a thing.
I've got news for you, dear, your dog is not a true anything breed. You may have given it a cutesy name, but a "pomchi," isn't anything but a mutt.
While I don't have all the facts, it appears to me you probably bought this little guy from a back yard breeder/puppy mill.
Sounds cute, though.

This is a mixed breed. You will have to go by the size of both parents to get an idea of how large the pups will grow.

Since it's a mutt, there's no way to know for sure. The parents may be small, but the grandparents or other ancestors may have been larger.

It's not a "breed" it's a "mutt", which means it may be anywhere between "Pomeranian-sized" and "Chihuahua-sized", so your guess is as good as anybody's.

You can't tell since he is a mixed breed, just exactly which genes he ends up with, how big he will be, or anything else about him. You can guess, and you can hope, but don't bet money on it!
