I'm going to a dressy, very elegant restaurant for a party. I'm wearing a black dress (2 inches below knees, 3/4 sleeve, 2 layers) with white polka-dots on it. There is a lot of detailing on the top, so I'd like to wear my hair up to show it -- otherwise the dress is sort of just plain. I have thick dark brown VERY curly hair (but I could straighten it, I do it on a daily basis anyway), which goes down to about 4 inches past my shoulders. (My makeup will also be just lip gloss and a smokey eye with various shades of brown, ranging from deep chocolate to light beige... in case that matters.)

Please post pictures of hairstyles you would suggest, plus instructions on how to do so if they are available. I am very experienced in doing hair (plus I have a lot of time to practice), so it CAN be complicated/difficult to achieve the look. Thank you very much! The person who picks the best hairstyle for what I'm looking for will get 10 points for best answer.

MY fav to keep elegance from taking over is to pull my hair back into a bun and then brush the hair around my face. Take that hair, twirl it back (which is easy AND sexy for curls) and bobby pin it at the bun. After you do that you will have loose hair around your bun. You can twist that around the bun and bobby pin it into place to conceal the elastic, or you can put another elastic around it to give the look an effortless sexy look while keeping your hair in place. Good luck!
