Men tend to limit their activities to spending time with the woman in their life and not going out with the guys so much. Plus he's initiating conversation about marriage and family and talking about things he wants in his life including talking about getting engaged. That's pretty much how you can tell men are ready to settle down.

Some men treat u so well and u think oh he will ask me. As u r waiting for that now u been with him 7 to 11 years and he is still not shore... Some guys it take 2 to 6 months and they already know....

If by settle down you mean get married then he will ask you. If you mean just be in a real committed relationship well then he will stop seeing others. He will be considerate of you and your feelings. He will call you regularly and include you in all his plans. He will be open and honest with you about everything.
