People are corrupt, not churches, not towns. The town may foster corruption, the churches may not effectively shame people out of it. The town can investigate and prosecute it, the churches really have no weapon but shame.

Dear Meanden,
I know that this is going to be a surprize to you but the church age ended in 1988. That is God stopped using ALL local churches in 1988. This year marked the beginning of what the Bible calls the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24). Many preachers have erroneously taught that the "chruch" will be raptured (taken to heaven) begore the Great Tribulation. Please see these Bible verses John 5:28, 29; John 6:39, 40, 44, 54. These verses tells us that the "rapture" will occur on the last day-that is Judgment Day when Christ returns!
Many people also do not know that satan is now ruling in ALL the local churches (2 Thessalonians 2:7, 8). Since the Lord has departed from ALL the churches and satan is now ruling there, it is ABSOLUTELy IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to be saved there! And if no one can be saved there from their sins, it means that they are on their way to hell. In fact, if you read the whole chapter of 2 Thess 2, you will find that God is sending those who remain there a strong delusion. You see God has commanded His children (true believers) to leave the local churches. Please see Matthew 24:15, 16 & Revelation 18:4. If you read the whole chpater of Revelation 18 you will see that the Bridegroom (Christ)is no longer in the church. You will also see that the Bride (true believers) are no longer present in the local chuch. So who are those that are still in the local churches? Those that are under the wrath of God. If you are not saved, you need to get out of the church and start praying that God (Jesus Christ) might have mercy on you. Rad your Bible slowly and prayerfully.
From everything the Bible statesit appears that 2011 may be the year in which the Lord Jesus Christ will return. This will mark the end of the world and Judgment Day. Do you realize that 2011 is exactly 7000 years after the Lord destroyed the world by a flood (4990 B.C.)? Read 2 Peter 3:8 to see how these 2 events relate to one another. It happens a lot. It depends on the churches doctrine. Do people actually practice what they preach?.. I experienced this w/ a small town in Central Georgia. My husband's company had a job there for 6 months. When we left there it was the happiest day of my life...Being from a large metro area, I had no idea there were towns like that in this nation. This town was so backwards and corrupt and was full of churches, yet the people were so hateful...

It has nothing to do with the churches specially if the churches have no power to put pressure on people to fight against corruption. The smaller town or country it is, the easier it gets to be controlled. It depends now on who controls it., a corrupt leader, a figure head who have no backbones or a strong leader with moral values.

Small towns are the worst. Too many people with nothing else to do but to get in everyone elses business. The more churches you have in a small town with different denominations- even more volatile. Religion is a fine line. They get too involved in the church instead of the Bible.

Because religion is mostly a nice place to play church. Money is spent on keeping the members happy, not on feeding the poor. People sit around gossiping about what little suzy was seen doing in the fields last week and then saying that they will pray for her.
In reality most churches are just country clubs with a little sprinkling of jesus to make people feel good about themselves. There is very little tangible good that comes from them.

Might help if I knew WHAT small town. No town, city or even rural area is without evil people or troubled people. I don't think the number of churches would statistically change that.

Corruption spreads like a subtle cancer and only the genuinely true in spirit can resist until the town self destructs.

False teachings.
The church does not make a person a Christian or a good person. It's the help of God and the will of the person.

They have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and have choosen to worship the created, rather than the Creator, so God gave them over to vile affections (Romans chapter 1). People no longer take God's word seriously.
