After exams, we noticed that my gall bladder only work 5% and I need to have it remove. I also have that burning sensation all the time and I'm wondering if I have an infection...how can we tell? I don't have any heartburn at all!
Also is there any emergency to have the gall bladder remove, can this wait maybe 1 month from now?? My mom need to fly in from a foreign country and my dad is just back from colon surgery! Thanks for you help!

Usually your gall bladder quits working because it is infected, so yours probably is. If it ruptures (which you would know because it's extremely painful) then it must be removed immediately... but if you can deal with the discomfort, it can wait to be removed if you can talk your doctor into allowing you.

Last semester a girl in class had the same problem, and her doctor allowed her to wait until the semester was over to have it removed. Talk to your doctor, but he or she will probably let you.

Best wishes, and hope your father is well! Good luck!

if it is infected most likely the doctor will have you wait and put you on antibiotics to clear it up. The reason being is that doctors dont like to have any possible complications during surgery and an infection is something they can clear up and avoid having to deal with.

If the burning sensation isnt an infection but rather the gallbladder failing then you may have to rush the surgery. Best bet would be to see your doctor again and describe the symptoms. He will tell you what he recommends.
