I am constantly worried that anything i consume is contaminated or something, it really is getting me down.
I have got to the point where i am panicking every time i eat, drink, or even smoke a cigarette. i know that this is to do with OCD, and its really annoying. Can anyone relate to this?

When you eat or drink something tell yourself about all the healthy advantages it has and how good it is. If you have to be scared, be a little scared, almost everything is contaminated a little in todays world. But realize that it wont kill you. What will kill you is not eating or drinking. So next time enjoy and take the challenge.
Also cut on caffeine and give up smoking.

I think everyone has some sort of OCD. Its a mental and physical thing... some can just be "obsessive"-(mental) and some can just be Complusive (physical) and some can be both. I think everyone has "habits" that they feel or think or do that if they don't do or complete in a certain manner, they feel off balanced or that something terrible is going to happen. You just have to realize that nothing is "contaminated" which is a hard task, but if you can overcome that fear (so to say) you will a-okay! Good luck :)

Well, I have an OCD tendency or two, but nothing that extreme. I settle for things like sorting my french fries by length. I started when I was a kid and too young to realize that McDonald's was death in a styrofoam (at the time) carton. I wanted to save the biggest and best fries for last. It's humorous considering the general disorder that I maintain otherwise.

OCD or paranoia? Sounds more like paranoia,
Or hypocondria.
Maybe even a panic disorder.

Dont feel too bad my food cant touch either.
I have to wash the lids of cans or I wont use them. Cans of soda have to basically be scrubbed before Ill take a drink. I dont have OCD Im just weird.

I ate in deep ellum in dallas at some 24 hour diner last night. I had to eat because i didn't want to be a killjoy. I was so disgusted I couldn't sleep last night.

And plus when I go out to eat I will NEVER sit on the inside of the booths.

Better to be annoyed and safe than sick.

I can - mine is that the house needs to be super clean or I feel panicked and genrally unrelaxed and stressed out. It is a really awful condition. People always say to me " Oh is'nt your house lovely, it is so clean, how on earth do you do it" If only they realised that it is not by choice, The smoking problem must be a right sod - lol

I thought OCD was when you always have to repeat the same tasks in a certain order, Like you have to open the blinds in the Morning before you brush your teeth or your whole day will be ruined, Sounds like you are a germaphobe

Have you spoken to your GP about this, if not then you should visit him and tell him of your condition. If you are happy to take medication he can prescribe Clomipramine, this worked for me, it is a drug specifically for the irrational fears that OCD produce. I don't take it any longer I don't need to, I am managing without drugs, and I can assure you they do work, they are not habit forming and safe, (well as safe as any drug can be). Good luck.

im really funny about my clean washing. i cant stand any smells from cooking/smoke etc getting near it..sounds normallish til u hear that i cried hyseterically because my brother put a salt and vinegar crisp in one of my clean socks!! if smells get on it, it will have to washed again! i get really snappy if someone leaves a door open where my clothes are drying or touches my washing (i can only touch it when ive washed my hands with anti bacterial handwash)- annoying cos i cant sleep at night cos im worrying that my parents who might get up before me might take my washing out of the machine to put some of theirs in, id rather wake up again at 3am and go and get it out!
