a million/third of the persons hospitalized for the swine flu this yr haven't any underlying scientific stipulations.. and that i feel theres already been round 50 deaths from youngsters demise of the swine flu, that's approximately wahat the annually complete is however the flu season hasnt quite began. Just due to the fact that she is healthful does now not imply she cant trap the flu, certainly this one that's so new. The different poster was once proper, a three month historic will have to now not get the shot, however this doesnt imply that you simply shouldnt get it. Get the H1N1 shot to be certain your youngster doesnt get unwell. Even if there has "simplest" been 50 deaths to this point, you wouldnt desire your youngster to be certainly one of them. And even though she wouldnt die, theres no feel to place her at chance for buying unwell by way of potentially exposing her your self. I might certainly propose getting one, be certain your youngster remains healthful. Also, I'm definite whoever you might get the shot from might ask for those who are living at house with an youngster, however simply to will let you understand, it isn't reccomended to get the flumist if you're residing at house with a youngster, due to the fact that even though there has on no account been a documented case, in idea the flumist might move the virus directly to persons with weaker immune methods, while the shot is a useless virus so there's zero% danger of it inflicting the flu in anybody, and it's extra strong. Dont permit persons scare you off of the vaccine, speak for your pharmacist or medical professional and spot what they are saying.

Find a Pilates instructor in your area (sometimes the local Y will have classes). Pilates exercises strengthen your "core" muscles (back and abdomen) which will protect you from strain and injury, provided you are using the correct lifting techniques with patients and equipment. Good luck!

Stretching is a life saver! Stretch your back with toe touches, and reaching as far as you can to each side.

Remember to use your arms and legs to bear most of the weight and always use a partner when lifting a heavy person. When you bend, bend with your knees as well.

Good luck in your clinicals and best wishes!

the way to avoid injury lifting patients is never try to lift alone, have helpers and follow proper body mechanice..lots of places have no lift policies now because of back injuries...if people need to be lifted it is done with mechanical lifts and such...i've been a nurse for 23 years and have never suffered any type of back injury from lifting people
