I am in NYC too! (Manhattan specifically) You were not specific about what you want included, but here is what I am having done:
With linens, tables, chairs, fine china, glassware, table settings, dance floor, passed hors d'ourves, drink butlers for cocktail hour, open bar for 5 hour reception and cocktail hour, multi-course seated meal with a lobster, vegetarian & filet mignon selection, wedding cake. Seeing as it's one of the finer hotels in the city, it's going to be about 350 per person.
I ahve seem them for much cheaper than this though, lol. The Ritz (not where I am going) quoted me at least 30k with a very basic and not so impressive menu.
In reality, it depends on what you want to be included in the cost. I personally prefer to have all the rentals included so I dont have to deal with 800 vendors. It's worth the few extra dollars to me. If you just call up a few places, they will likely give you a quote rather hassle-free, all you need is an estimate of people and a few other basic bits of information.

this is NJ so I would say double it for NY
$800 for just the Hall
Catered 150 people $10,000 and it includes the hall cost.
We bring in the booze another $1,500.
