Sounds great to me. Christian music, dancing and good clean fun. We used to go to a comedy club that had a Christian comedian every monday night it was a lot of fun.

Depends on a lot of things, but overall I think it's okay. If christians want to have it so they can continue to follow the world's trends I don't like it, I think we should be creating our own music/entertainment and not trying to regurgitate rock, hip hop, even dance music or whatever. But I used to go to Christian dance clubs and really had fun. There have been at least 3 dance clubs that played all christian music, no smoking or alcohol here in the bay area. It's better Christian youth at least have an alternative to secular nightclubs if they're bound and determined to go somewhere and dance. So my only question is motive. Like Scott Blackwell asked it's not a question of can we or can't we (dance) but why would we?

There are many family oriented dance places around, if you look for them. The only problem is that they tend to be run by the National Park Service, or some sort of charity, because they normally do not turn out a profit.
====edit====
I don't really think that it is appropriate for a church to run a "nightclub" as such, since it gives the wrong impression, might attract the wrong element, and has the potential to be misused.
I think that "family orientated" dance clubs are more suited for what you are getting at.

My Bishop was just talking about that stuff yesterday(3/25/07) He was saying that us(christians) need to be seperated from those worldly things(because the world is full of sin). He was also saying how a real Church really started a Christian night club playing Christian music. It's scary to think that you can't even be safe inside a Church(the house of God) now-and-days.

There are coffee houses and such. A night-club is a place to party, drink, and meet potential partners. I can't imagine that a night-club would be a night-club without drinking and dancing and such.
You could have a place where Christians hang out at night, but I wouldn't try to pass it off as a night-club.

We have one in our area called Club 22 (gets its name from 2 Timothy 2:2). Fun place. My kids visit there often. I sometimes help on Security for the weekends. Also functions as a Starbuck during the day for coffee and what-not.

I've never been to one...and would not go if there was one available to me.
However, I think if Christians want to find a venue to gather in the evening and dance, mingle, date, etc, without the need for alcohol or drugs, then go for it!

I think it's a great idea. You have those laughing and poking fun at the idea, but those are the ones who aren't Christians and could care less. They have their clubs. It would be a great thing for teenagers who have nowhere to go too. Good idea!
Ok, and NO-I'm sure the OP did not intend for remix of hymns to be played..funny.

I went to a lot of religiously sponsored "dances," throughout high school and college -and they we're great - just because we're Christian doesn't mean we don't like dancing or having fun, just a lot of us would prefer a more pleasant environment to do that in.

A Christian nightclub is more like a coffeehouse. That's a much more relaxing and apropos environment.
