It's very hard and tough. Very difficult to eat and not very pleasant.

Same reason you don't eat a peach pit I guess ! Don't know , I eat canned pineapple . Try cooking pork chops in pineapple juice , it's really good , also brown the pineapples in a seperate skillet with butter and brown sugar , then serve with the pork chops. Yummy !

I used to cut it out. Then I decided why? I slice it thin and eat it with the rest. However, sometimes it is a little tough. Then I skip it.

Much of the time its very fibrous, stringy, and tough to chew. On many occasions it's bitter and doesn't taste good. I guess its up there with Why don't we eat the entire orange, rind and all?

I eat it. I think it still tastes good. It is really tough to eat and kinda hard. My mom once told me that it can mke you constipated if you eat it. Oh well, Im still good. I think it is fine. Most people dont eat it becasue it is too hard!
