Sure, they'll enjoy all the things they view up close. But just make sure they are safe for children (should say so on the packaging)

I think a magnifying glass is a good idea for a four or two year old. Most kids love exploring, so that would probably be a hit with your children :) The danger of fire is only if the magnifying glass is held on a spot, such as paper, for a long time. So the risk of fire is very little.

I think that is a great gift idea! Check out the discovery store, or discovery store online, also toys-R-us has a great section of "discovery" toys.
Discovery makes exploration kits that come with a variety of neat outdoor toys (including a child safe magnifying glass) I had one when I was a kid and I had SO much fun looking at things in my back yard. This is a GREAT gift idea!

I believe the e book "Unplugged Play". verify it out at your interior sight library. each and every toy would nicely be academic and with this age...you may turn very very nearly something right into a toy. i think of that area of this technology's situation is they have been entertained via purely about all those cutting-part toys that don't require thinking. :-) An easel is great... there is a lot benefit to table writing/portray as nicely. Puzzles are astonishing because of the fact those with pegs tend to apply the organic "pose" for writing. Rhythm gadgets are astonishing...yet you additionally may lead them to with your grandbaby. Stacking cups are great and may well be used in many diverse techniques... pegs and a pegboard is great, great lacing beads, wood blocks for stacking and flattening, distinctive kinds and sizes of balls. A farm set and a tea set are used the main right here with our babies! We use sensory aspects lots with purely elementary cups/spoons. i hit upon that a colourful number of beans are a huge hit with this age. of direction they want supervision for the reason that some are distinctly oral! returned... lots you're able to do devoid of spending a team of money. think of back to what you used with your babies or maybe what you used as a toddler your self! those are the stable toys! :-)

Office supply stores sell great magnifying glasses. Office Max has them for $2. Dollar Tree stores carry them for $1 each.

I think its a great idea! My children (boys 5 and 4, girl 2) love their magnifying glasses. Theirs are a child's version, so i'm not sure if its real glass.... probably not, its been smashed around a lot and hasn't broken yet! But I think its a great learning tool..... enjoy!

Well, if you're children find it interesting, let them play. It's a good toy for kids who like exploring and adventure. Or maybe just examining things.

Absolutely! My son's preschool has a set for the kids to use, and it's always the first toy that he goes for at Gramma's house. Excellent for watching ants!
The one my mom has is a cheap drugstore one (they sell them near the reading glasses) but the ones at preschool are from Lakeshore, http://www.lakeshorelearning.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=69367
