You witness as long as the Holy Spirit leads you to, however please keep in mind that you are only planting seeds and that you are not the one doing the saving, backing off and letting the Holy Spirit do His job might be the right thing to do. If you persue it all past that point you are probably doing more harm to the cause of Christ than you are doing good.

It's as if you were saying that all Christians act the same. Christianity consists of a lot of people. I'll tell you that a Christian that is really into the word might do a bit of information gathering while you are around and surmise that yu aren't even interested. To them, you don't have the 'reciever'. You might not even know that they are Christian.
I wouldn't waste my time, or yours once I knew that you have no interest whatsoever. Most people, I find, are just like you.

Yes. Witnessing about God's Kingdom and his wonderful promises to us is a command given to us - also a privilege. And yes again. A true Christian "should" stop when the person requests them to do so.

All Protestants (at least protestant evangelicals) are taught that it is their duty to spread the teachings of Jesus to everybody on Earth.
And most Protestants are taught that it is not our duty to force people to listen, or try to convert them, only God can do that. It is our job simply to spread the word, nothing more.
I'm not sure what the Roman Catholics or Eastern orthodox churches teach about this, though.

I think different denominations have different ideas of when "witnessing" or "sharing your testimony" is appropriate, and how to best do it, but most generically yeah, I would say that's a part of all Christian faiths.
Personally, if someone were to ask me to stop, I would.

We're not meant to force ourselves on others, just expose them to the message Jesus brought. Absolutely, if someone asks you to stop or go away, do so and do it respectfully.
All Christian groups, Catholic, Protestant, etcetera, are Bible-based, and the Bible tells us to spread the good news, so, yes, we're all supposed to witness.
God bless.

Well, I'm a Christian but the other Christians don't like me much because I believe that everyone has the right to believe or not believe & I also question the Bible as fiction so needless to say I'm not real welcome in this section

Jesus told us to take Gods love to the ends of the earth, but that does not mean shove it down peoples throats.it is possible tobe a witness without saying any tihng directly i.e. actions speak louder than words.

You mean "Christians"
We should always spread the word of God, and when someone refuses to hear, we need to walk away, shake the dust from our feet as Jesus says in the Bible.
Matthew 7:6
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
-But we should always preach the word, in and out of season and be prepared to be a "light" of Christ, sharing his wonderful gospel to all who hear--and we never know who God is going to save! But God calls us to do this--
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
Romans 10:15
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Jesus lasts words were:
"Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations." Matthew 28:19
So, if one calls themselves a follower, they should be doing that.
If the listener does not wish to hear any more, the witnesser stops.
Just like Jesus did.
