Do you wonder why Christians are so full of hate?

Or do you just laugh at their ignorant superstitious beliefs?

I both wonder why and laugh. Then I tell them that if they threatened me to Heaven, they would be more likely to get fear out of me, because then I would be surrounded by them. Hell and Heaven to me are just imaginary places created by imaginative poets and writers.

True Christians do not threaten others with eternal damnation. No, true Christians point out the benefits of knowing Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

Its a sad thing, but many people who profess to be Christians really arent. But its not up to us to say who are and who arent true to the cause. Christians do not have superstitions, only Hope to the better world they will go to after they die. Read the Bible, study the scriptures, learn the true meaning of Chist and his ( ours too) Heavenly father. Once you really read, you too can know the truth. Right now you are on the outside looking in. True Christians don't hate. We can sometimes wish others didnt act so hateful to us, but we dont hate.

My husband is Christian - I am not. Nor can I say that I will ever be returning to Christianity.

My husband does not threaten me with eternal damnation in the fires of hell. He doe not judge me. He does n ot preach at me. He actually resepcts me, and loves me.

We talk about religion all the time - we are just able to respect and love eachother enough to talk about it like civilized people.

When I was Christian - I converted people. Not with threats, but with teaching them about Jesus.

Don't condemn all Christians for the acts of a few. Although hell is important in Christian theology - many do not use it as a fear factor to try and scare people into converting. Instead they actually teach what is in the bible's NT.

You shouldnt lump all Christians together like that. Not all Christians are Bible thumbers and hellfire and brimstone preachers. I am a Christian and do not run around telling people that they should go to hell all the time.

Not all Christians are full of hate, get your information right. Have you really met every single Christian in the world to be able to say that? I highly doubt it. You cant generalize.

It would be like saying that every democrat sleeps with women other than their wives because of Clinton. Its a stupid statement.

Just consider the source. If these people are so fanatical, I wonder why they do not follow their own advise. To be fair, much of the bible is not systematically evil, but thus plain weird, as you would expect of a caotically put together anthology of disjointed documents, that were composed, revised, translated, distorted and improved by hundred sof anonymous authors editors and copiests, unknown to us, and for sure mostly unknown to each other, spanning nine centuries.... and the stories are just down right vicious--- read Genesis --- god killing everyone for silly reasons. Judges, Chapter 11,,, Jephthah promising to sacrifice "whatsoever cometh forth of the door of my house to meet me when I return. He did indeed defeat his enemies, and returned victorious... His daughter came thru the door. Guess what... He cooked her, and god did not intervene on this occasion as he had done when Abraham was about to kill his own son... (Can you imagine the terror that poor child went thru? Abraham would be up for child abuse.....) Great stuff, the bible, and idiots who take it literally......

Then of course, they pick and choose, which defeats it all anyway.... so go figure.

personally as a Christian, I don't threaten Atheists with eternal damnation in the fires of hell, although it is Truth.

As a Christian I speak Truth.
It is my responsiblity as a Christian to be ready at all times to tell others of the hope that I have.

Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear--hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. (Jude 22-23)

I apoligize for some christians that don't show that mercy, I am quilty at times for lack of mercy, because I feel so strongly in my beliefs and I expect others to see what I see.
Just as Atheists feel strongly with what they believe, they call us ignorant .

Both of the things you mentioned apply, they are laughable and full of hate at the same time. Watch some of these preachers on TV some time, some of them look pleased when they talk about people going to hell. All I can do is just do my best when dealing with someone like that in person to not wring their neck.

If you don't believe in Hell, then why do you consider a warning to be some type of "threat"? Your question sounds irrational.

Do you accuse a medical doctor of "threatening" you when he warns you to start eating right & exercise more, or else your health will suffer?

Why is a warning about Hell considered to be a "threat", if you really think that God & his judgment do not exist? Are all atheists really that emo and unstable? I never understood that.

I'm not an Atheist, but the Christians who do the threatening are actually threatening all non-Christians, as their belief is that you will burn in Hell if you don't accept Jesus as your personal savior. I have not been personally threatened, but I laugh at the notion when I see it.

I laugh at being with threatened with something I do not believe exists. Seems that is a concept they just don't get. Same as being quoted scripture as proof of god. They don't fully understand someone when they say "I don't believe the bible is the word of a fictitious entity that does not exist".

Oh well, you just learn to tune them out. Men are better at selective hearing. My ex can testify to that statement. But, if you are a woman who hasn't figured out how to selectively hear, let me know. I will gladly give you some pointers.
