Everytime I get a cold sore a gland in my throat swells... if I get in on the left side of my lip its on the left side of my thoat, if the sore is on the right side, then the right side of my throat swells, or in the middle. Is this common?

Idk, but I get a lot of cold sores, and that's never happened 2 me. Maybe u should talk 2 a doctor.

Yep. Glands in your body swell for many different reasons anytime you have a virus or an illness most likely some glands are swollen somewhere. For instance if you get an std the glands down by your genital area will become swollen and sore.

Yes, they are all a part of your lymphnodes (glands that can warn you of infection...). I get swollen glands with cold sores, too. My doctor recommended taking Lysine (a kind of vitamin) and using Abreva. I haven't had any in a long time.
