Some people say no, because the caffeine dehydrates you, but other studies have shown that people who have regular caffeine intake do not dehydrate as much as people who don't, when given caffeinated beverages. Herbal teas are basically just flavored hot water and do not have that effect at all, and thus should definitely count as water.

it just depends on the type of tea. if it doesnt contain any caffeine, than ya, tea can count as a serving of water. however, if it does have caffeine, you'll have to make up for it by drinking more water since caffeine has been known to dehydrate.

this is just for tea however, no soda can be thought of this way.

Yes it sounds like a serving of water, unlike a beer, which is dehydrating you as much as the liquid you are taking in.

No. Water is strictly H2O (hydrogen and oxygen). It has a PH balance of 7 (the most neutral PH balance). When you add tea, it changes the chemistry of water into something else. It no longer is just H2O, but the PH balance has changed as well.

it is if its like natural tea or lipton, not the rasberry and sugary stuff.

yes it does...absolutely...contrary to what soem peole will have you think, so does soda...it contains mostly water...of course diet is better and water is better than both.
