Neither. Cat food is what you feed it. You will make him/her fat and it's not fair to the animal. It's very hard for a cat to lose weight. You shouldn't feed it table food at all.

Neither. It's best not to feed your cat table food, only as a treat. Just meatloaf or chicken doesn't meet the nutritional values cats need. In the wild cats kill their prey, and start by eating the stomachs to get the goodness of semi-digested vegitables from their vegatarian prey then eat the meat. Then it gets balenced nutrients of both vegis and meat. Feed your cat store bought food. The brands I recomend are Hills Science Diet Natures Best or Nutro. I feed my cat dry Science Diet kibble and Nutro canned wet food. Make sure that if your cat is a kitten, feed it kitten food, adult: adult food, ect.... Look carefully at the lables. You can find that the food may contain natural DHA for healthy brain developement. It may also contain immune system strenthening, muscle building, coat enhancing, mineral and vitamin rich ingredents. These can all be found in Science Diet and Nutro. These Brands also have a large variety of flavors and diffrent types to meet your cats specific needs such as: hairball controll, oral care, lite, and indoor. Always leave drinking water available.Be careful of the the pet food recall. Same goes for dogs.

Some boiled or grilled chicken is ok but lay off the meatloaf! It's all in the seasonings. Don't use them. However, what is wrong with dry cat food? Nothing! Occasional wet out of the can is fine too. Just make sure nothing you feed is on the menufoods.com list of the tainted stuff. Stick with food made for kitty and avoid table scraps. A lot of human food is just plain too rich for them.

for a good healthy cat you should probably consider giving a more complete diet such as hills science plan. This has everything needed for their teeth, coat, bones etc. Wet food can be given as well (half wet half dry) but i would not recomend just feeding meat if you want to give the cat the best you can.

why would you feed your cat meatloaf? i've never heard of such a thing. I use purina indoor formula...because my cat is indoors only. When chosing a catfood, look at the ingredients and choose one with a meat as the first or second ingredient.
