No this is not the reason why we oppose gay marraige. We oppose it because it is wrong. God made marraige a special sactification between a man & woman.
Leviticus 18:22-Thous shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.
Leviticus 20:13- If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surley be put to death; thier blood shall be upon them.

It stems from their original argument: homosexuality is genetic vs. a choice. Since Bible text (via the writers) condemns it, most Chirstians condemn it. It remind me of a phrase- Religion is the device that tries to solve unanswerable questions with unquestionable answers. No way was anyone up on genetics in Biblical times, but somehow it trumps what modern science it finding out. You've probably heard a fundamentalist minister is writing that Christians need to brace for the fact that homosexuality has a very high probability of being genetic- thereby crushing the basis for Christianity's argument against 'gayness'. But, do you think this sparks a new round of looking anew at the human condition? Naw, his solution is to *genetically alter* the children so they do not grow up gay and can keep in line with Church doctrine. Words fail me.

No. Holy Matrimony is a sacrament. With a sacrament, you need a priest, an altar, a man, a woman, and vows. If any of those things are missing, it is not Holy Matrimony.
Why do homosexuals insist upon getting married? Do you really want to play house that badly? If it is the financial thing, get a civil union. Leave marriage alone.
If you want to feel accepted, go out and marry a member of the opposite sex.

I think it makes homophibic people feel stupid and selfish.....etc...and think about it......gay marriage having a low divorce rate but yet our lifestyle isnt condoned by god....no we cant have that in america we have to have child molesting priest, hookers and crackwhores, drug dealers, murderers, etc....but never two people of the same sex loving each other......no way

Do you have anything to support this claim? The gay men I've known have gone through lovers faster then they go through tissues. This would suggest that they would have a higher divorse rate. I can count on my hand and have fingers left over for how many stay with one person for longer then a year (and count on one hand with fingers left over on how many Christians I know who are divorsed). Your theory doesn't hold up.

It's amazing how those who have no mind of their own have posted the same old tired nonsense (ie: It's an abomination, it's one of God's sacred blah blah blah)
How does same sex marriage PERSONALLY affect any one of you?

No. Christians are opposed to homosexuality, in general, because the Word says it is an abomination.
Eating pork is bad for your health, the Word does not say that it is an abomination.

No,
I oppose gay marriage because I believe the Bible and the Bible says that gay acts are wrong. It has nothing to do with divorce rates.
( not that i do not care about divorce, because I do believe that It is wrong in most cases(not all) and that people that claim to be Christians are not listening to Jesus' teaching on marriage. Jesus taught that God original intent was for a man and a woman to be joined in marriage and that marriage would be for life)

Anyone with an ounce of common sense and decency opposes perverted people who look for love in the wrong places, literally.
