I was dating my ex for 6 months, after which time we broke up and they revealed to me that they had been dating their "ex" throughout most of our relationship. The "ex" broke up with them for someone else, but they are still "best friends". Since they broke up, they hang out and talk more than they did "before the break up" (or perhaps i can hear about it more now since I wasn't supposed to know they were dating before)... The "ex-gf" finally found out about me (not that we were dating, but rather that i exist) and is pretty much jealous that I'm around. So yesterday was my "whatever we are now's" birthday, and I called at midnight to say happy birthday, and they tell me that "the ex" and the best friend got locked out of the car. Which would normally be ok with me because they are still close friends... but the thing that bothers me is that, my "other's" best friend and the "ex" don't like eachother... so im wondering why they would all be together...

For me, I think that the only reason they would be together would be if the best friend was sucking it up and wanted to let them be together since it was a birthday and all.... am i thinking too much into this? and i know there's definitely trust issues that need to be worked out

This is a little confusing because you didn't once just simply say he or she, in reference to your "ex."

I'd say yes you are thinking about it a little too much. An ex is an ex for a reason. Whatever ended the relationship seemed to have done it at a good time. I'd say cut your losses. Humans will be humans, no matter how dumb they may seem.

Move on- this is too much drama to waste your life on. You dated him a mere 6 months, not 6 years. Stop getting yourself involved in his life. Make new friends.

Let them have each other. Find someone new. The drama is too much unless you like that sort of thing.
