For instance, you cannot use the word "ninja" in marketing, and the use as well as portrayal of martial arts weapons like shurikens and nunchucks are strictly regulated?

I'm not a european lawyer and don't even live in europe.

I would say this is a good thing. As a person using nunchucks is probably going to be more likely to hurt themselves than thier opponent (it is a useless weapon- buy a flail, at least you can say its a "peice of art you will hang").

shurikens are likely just as stupid, as they are not likely to cause any fatality without adding poison to the equation, they are a foolish weapon that only encourages people to follow the moronic "ninja craze" that should have died with the 80's.

EDIT: Also as european countries are staunt supporters of piracy, (as was seen in thier offering such pirates as "sir francis drake the opportunity to become a "privateer") they are the mortal enemies of the ninjas. Thus they do not want to spread the "ninjitsu plague" any further.

It is also a well-known fact that as pirates are the prophets of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, ninjas must therefore be the instruments of evil. AKA: spokespeople for pokemon and naruto.

There's nothin really you can do with nunchucks other than coneal them an then bash someone, this would suggest a premeditated attack in the first place. The momentum they can project is too deadly to just let children or fools make them at whim. You can't easily make a katana or gun in your garage with two pieces of metal or wood and a chain. Shurikens are the same, take sheet-metal cut it into sharp objects, conceal, throw. Any weapon you are hiding is illegal, and these are weapons which you hide. There are also no methods for permitting assassin-tools in North America so this would be the largest contributing factor to your problem.

it would be like using the term "crack pipe" or "drugs make you feel good" in your marketing strategy. it is not good for us to believe in them. the ninja always represented the undesirables of society, the riff raff. too bad they died out when cutting the brake lines of your enemies cars came into fashion, and proved more reliable in killing them.
